A retrievable positive-action tubing anchor made to retain the tubing string in tension or compression is the ATLAS-DBA Tubing Anchor. Unlike traditional drag spring anchors, it features drag blocks, which enable the anchor to be run deeper. The anchor maintains the tubing in place in the event that it should split and stops it from moving during pumping strokes. Tension tubing anchors prevent tubing and rods from falling into the well in the event of a component failure, lower wear on the tubing and rods, and improve pump efficiency.
